For the Good of All: Activity Two

Perspective Groups – Analysing Different Views

  1. Ask students to form into their perspective groups, ie environmentalists, business people, Indigenous elders and others, and for them to share their views on the Issues List, as well as those of the other members of their constitutional group.
  2. Explain that the perspective group provides an opportunity for them to strengthen their views on the list of issues, and to consider their counterarguments to other perspectives.
  3. While they are in their perspective groups, ask students to list on a Plus, Minus and Interesting Chart the views on the issues that will help them persuade others in the ‘constitutional’ group of their position (Plus), and those that will be detrimental to their position (Minus) and which they will need to counter.
