For the Good of All: Activity One

Constitutional Groups – Identifying Arguments and Perspectives

  1. Photocopy Worksheet One, and cut out the perspective cards according to the number of student groups planned for the activity.
  2. Divide students into ‘constitutional’ groups and inform them that are to draw up a constitution employing different perspectives as they would in a role play.
  3. Provide students with the perspective cards and the issues list on Worksheet Two.
  4. Instruct students that they will be required to select or draw a perspective from a ‘hat’, and consider what kind of laws they will have for each issue on the list. Remind them to record the views from all perspectives for every issue.
