Civics and Citizenship Education Forum 2005 and 2006
2006
The 2006 Civics and Citizenship Education Forum, 'What is quality in human rights education?', was held at the National Museum, Canberra, on 1–2 June 2006. Sponsored by the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training, and organised by the Australian Curriculum Studies Association, the 2006 forum focused on human rights education. Speakers included the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner, Tom Calma, the Assistant Secretary, Human Rights Branch, Attorney General's Department, Matt Minogue, the Federal Sex Discrimination Commissioner and Commissioner Responsible for Age Discrimination, Prue Goward, and Reverend Tim Costello, Chief Executive Officer, World Vision. Teachers and curriculum leaders from the States and Territories also showcased exemplary human rights education strategies and resources. The report of the forum is available here.
2005
The 2005 Civics Citizenship Education Forum, 'Civics and citizenship education: local, regional and global', took take place at the National Museum on 27 and 28 May, 2005. A report of this forum is available here.
