Civics & Citizenship Education: Professional Learning Package
The Civics & Citizenship Education: Professional Learning Package focuses on the citizenship dimension of civics and citizenship. It provides primary and secondary teachers with information, techniques and resources to identify opportunities for students to increase and apply their understanding of civics and citizenship in the classroom and beyond.
There are three modules:
- Module 1: Classroom Practice will help you create a democratic environment in the classroom.
- Module 2: Beyond the Classroom will assist you in identifying how your students can become active democratic participants in the school.
- Module 3: Participation in the Community will give you strategies to engage your students in extending and applying their knowledge in the broader community.
Each module includes case studies, activities, models for implementing strategies with students, techniques for monitoring their progress and measuring success, and links to additional resources.
